Just a gallery of marionettes
The Moon And His Sister
“If the Moon has a sister it’s gotta be you” sings Leonard Cohen in “the Law”. I like the song so much that when I was making a Moon marionette, I made at the same time a sister foir him. Moon And Sister are not typical six-string marionettes. They are much bigger (80 cm each) and they’ve got more strings, but the easyness of operating
those two is equal.
Both of them are made of lime wood (hands and heads). The skeleton si made of pine, spruce and what one can find around. So called: recycling wood. Eyes are painted with acrylic, the rest with wax paint. If you want to make your own be carefull with the cloth. Child-cloth donot fit. the torso of each is a single rod underneath their shirts, so you have to sew a special marionette shirts and jackets.

my own piece of sun, my own piece of moon
2011.01.04 – the sun eclipse I observed with my father. Below – both below the elipse and below the picture some photos of working over dolls’ heads carved in pine wood. By the way, I prefer pine. I use the the wood that stayed under tons of steel. I take as a matrial for marionettes wood from a sheet metal factory. A good test for wood, few tons
of steel.
